The Infested Mine is a Mistlands dungeon, an old Dvergr mining camp that the Seekers have taken over. Its rooms hold Black Cores, Sealbreaker Fragments and Royal Jelly.
Where to Find It
Mines spawn in solid Mistlands ground, at least 256 m from the next mine, and the game places them early in world generation. There are two entrance designs, with up to 120 of each in a world. The first stands on ground at least 12 m up and is guarded by five Seekers, two inside and three on the roof. The second sits between 1 and 20 m of altitude and has two to four Seekers on its stairs. The entrance building looks a lot like a single-storey Dvergr Guard Tower. What gives it away is the Black Marble pillar in the middle, with a spiral staircase winding down around it to the door, and Seekers in an otherwise intact building. Some entrances are cut into large rock formations instead.
What's Inside
Each mine's interior is generated fresh, with 16 to 96 rooms that mostly branch off one long rectangular hall. Wooden barricades close off some rooms and break for 1 to 2 Wood. Two kinds of secret door hide the rest. The old Dvergr gate is a slab almost identical to the marble walls apart from a carved Dvergr face, and it opens onto ordinary passages and rooms. The hidden door is a small marble block marked with blue runes, and it opens onto a treasure room. Both open with the use key and stay open. A treasure room holds one or two treasure chests, up to three coin piles of about 138.5 coins each and up to four Black Cores on stands. Some other rooms have a stone altar holding a Sealbreaker Fragment inside a glass case you have to smash, with up to four more Black Cores around it. Brood egg clusters hatch Seeker Broods, and Royal Jelly piles give 5 jelly each and grow back every 4 hours. Some pits and large rooms have a 10% chance of holding a vegvisir for The Queen.
