The Metal cutter is a bladed rig for trimming bar stock down to size. It is the last black forge improvement in the Crafting Stations tab, and the only one that needs Ashlands materials. Adding it raises the forge another level, which lets you upgrade the best flametal gear past the quality the bare bench reaches.

How to Build It

It costs 5x black marble, 5x flametal, 5x ashwood and 4x charred bone. Three of those four come from the Ashlands, which is why almost everyone builds this extension last. Placement is what trips people up. It only counts while it stands inside the black forge's circle, and the forge needs a roof and walls around it to work at all, so leave room for the cutter when you lay out the smithy instead of moving benches around later.
