Nord Shield is the round shield of the Deep North. With 132 block armour and a 1.5x parry, it sits between the buckler and the greatshield. Instead of crafting it outright at a forge, you pour a cast around a mould found in the biome and then harden it in a Frost Foundry.
How to Craft
You make it in a Frost Foundry from:
- 1x Cast: Nord Shield: poured at a level 4 Black Forge from Bloodgold, Timberwood and its mould.
- 5x Liquid Frost: frozen down from Ice in a Frigid Kiln.

Mould
You find the Mould: Nord Shield in the Deep North:
- It drops from the trash piles you smash in the Winding Tunnels.
- It lies in the buried chests at Memorial Sites.
- It sits on the weapon stands on the last floor of Mörkhalla.
When to Use It
This is end-game gear: you can only progress through the Deep North once Fader is dead.
Upgrades
You can upgrade it twice at the Black Forge. Each step needs the station one level higher than the last: the first costs the per-level amount and the second costs twice that.

Properties
The three Nord shields split the job between them. The greatshield blocks hardest at 158, the highest block armour of any shield, but it cannot parry and costs you 10% of your movement. The round shield blocks 132 and parries at 1.5x for 198, at a cost of 5% movement. The buckler blocks only 88 but parries at 2.5x for 220, the highest parry block armour of any shield, and it also costs 5%.
All three stop at quality 3 when upgraded at the Black Forge, and the Forge of Potential carries them further with a Bloodgold Protection Idol. Their moulds come from the trash piles of the Winding Tunnels, the buried chests at Memorial Sites and the weapon stands on the last floor of Mörkhalla.
It has 132 block armour, or 198 on a parry.
It gives -5% movement speed while it is in your hands.
It weighs 5 and has 400 durability, rising to 500 at quality 3.
It blocks with 132 armour, or 198 on a well-timed parry at 1.5x. Blocking a melee attack knocks the attacker back with a block force of up to 50.
Crafting it from scratch and taking it to quality 3 costs 39 Bloodgold and 25 Timberwood, plus a mould and 5 Liquid Frost.
Notes
Once it is fully upgraded, the Forge of Potential can upgrade it further with a Bloodgold Protection Idol.
