Oat Flour is ground from Oats in a Windmill: one flour for each oat, at about 13 seconds each in full wind. The Deep North's pancakes, oven pancakes, baked poteitr, meat in bread and the Northern Morning Fare feast all start with it. Along with lingonberries and poteitr, it is used in five recipes, second only to kale's seven. It weighs 0.2 and stacks to 50.

How to Make It

---

You grind it in a Windmill from:

• 1x Oats: ground from Oat Seeds in a Windmill.

How to Get It

---

Flour is the end of a three-step chain. You plant Oat Seeds from the granaries, and they grow back three to one. Ground once in the windmill they become oats, and ground a second time the oats become flour.

The windmill holds fifty grain at a time and drops its output in stacks of fifty, or you can empty it by hand sooner. Its speed depends on the wind, from a tenth to full strength, and on how covered it is from above: a roof over the top slows it down. You can only place it on dirt or stone with an Artisan Table in range, but it keeps running without the table afterwards.

Five recipes take it, two flour each unless noted. Pancakes give 115 stamina for 30 minutes. Oven Pancake Batter bakes into a 105-eitr meal, and Unbaked Poteitr bakes into a 100-eitr meal. Meat in Bread takes one flour and gives 110 health. The Northern Morning Fare feast gives 85 health, 85 stamina and 43 eitr to each of its ten servings. Oatmeal, despite the name, is made from whole oats, not flour.

Notes

---

• Barley Flour, the Plains version, cannot stand in for Oat Flour.
