The Mountain hands you the problem and the answer together: Wolves and Drakes on the way in, and the silver for the Silver Shield on the way back down. It has 60 block armour.
How to Craft
You craft it at a level 3 Forge from:
- 10x Finewood: chopped from Birch and Oak trees with a Bronze Axe or better.
- 8x Silver: smelted from Silver Ore in a Smelter.

When to Use It
This is a mid game shield. Silver lies under the Mountain snow and you need a Wishbone to find it, so this comes after Bonemass.
Upgrades
You can upgrade it 3 times after crafting, and each level needs the station built one step higher than the last. The stats quoted elsewhere are all quality 1, so this table shows the ladder your own copy sits on:

Properties
It is the middle option, and the one that parries. It has less raw block armour than the tower shield of its tier, but a round shield can parry, and a parry staggers the attacker into taking double damage for as long as the stagger lasts.
Its 60 armour matches what the Serpent Scale Shield blocks for. The whole difference is that this one can parry, while the scale shield answers with pierce resistance instead.

- You pick the design and colour with the style button at the crafting bench, and they cannot be changed once the shield is made.
