The Wooden Battle Idol is a wager, not a crafting ingredient. You loot it from chests in the ruined buildings of the Meadows, then spend it at the Forge of Potential in the Mountain on a weapon you can afford to lose.

How to Get It
The idol drops from chests at Meadows points of interest: abandoned houses, stone ship settings and shipwrecks stranded inland. Any tool or tier will do. The only hurdle is the drop rate per chest, which is low enough that it pays to open every chest you walk past instead of saving the biome for a farming run later. To spend it, you need to find the Forge of Potential. It fixes itself into a Mountain biome the first time you come near one of its possible sites, then marks itself on your map. Every attempt uses up the idol, whatever the outcome. Usually the weapon gains a quality level, sometimes it loses one, and occasionally it is destroyed and you get half its materials back.
