Big in Japan is a side job for Dennis Cranmer, a man who skips the fixers and hires mercs himself. After V meets Goro Takemura, Dennis approaches V near Rogue in the Afterlife, Watson, with a simple delivery from the Kabuki slums. The package turns out to be a man, and the Tyger Claws want him dead.

Story

---

A Simple Job

The journal is suspicious from the start. Find the package and deliver it from A to B, simple. So why not book a courier? And why not go through a fixer? Something smells off about this one.

Dennis wants V to work for him directly. He sends V to a marked fridge in the slum on the edge of Kabuki, tells V to gather its contents, and to call him then for further instructions.

The Package

The fridge stands in the last shack out on the pier, with "No Future" sprayed across it. When V opens it, an exhausted man falls out. On the phone, Dennis only says to drive the man to Northside, and warns that the Tyger Claws are nearby, ready to kill him, and V along with him.

Haruyoshi

At the drop point in Northside, Dennis reveals the man's name: Haruyoshi Nishikata. Haruyoshi tells V his story. He claims to be a world class surgeon, the best in Japan. When a Tyger Claws boss died on his operating table, the gang wanted him dead, and Dennis helped him get away. What the gang does not know is that Haruyoshi killed the boss on purpose.
