Wellsprings is the safest part of Heywood, a district of working people and underpaid corporate staff on the western waterfront. Its harbour, boutiques and seafood restaurants draw tourists. Further south the buildings grow smaller and older. Santiago Molina's clinic is here.
History
The northern part of Wellsprings was built late in the rebuilding of the city, in the 2060s. Those neighbourhoods offered safe housing to Night City's small middle class.

Life in Wellsprings
The waterfront is popular with visitors, with the Bulwark shopping mall and apartments looking out over Del Coronado Bay. Luxury yachts sit in its harbours.
The south of the district is cheaper and shabbier, but Wellsprings as a whole keeps a sense of class. An underwater tunnel links it to West Wind Estate in Pacifica.
Wellsprings is said to be home to the average middle class citizen of Night City. The buildings next to City Center look modern, but further south east they grow older and more neglected. Homes are not expensive here, and a small apartment can be had for a fair price.
The east of the district is rougher, with houses close to falling apart. Valentinos graffiti covers the walls, but the gang leaves alone anyone who stays out of its way. The Scavengers in the south are another matter, and nobody sensible goes there after dark.
Bulwark is a clean, well kept shopping centre on the waterfront. It sells good quality implants and has bars and restaurants for every taste.
