The Ash of War: Endure is an Ash of War in Elden Ring that grants the Heavy affinity and the Endure skill. It turns up early in a run, in Stormhill.

Endure has the wielder take an anchored stance that briefly boosts poise and reduces all incoming damage by 45%. For about three seconds the wielder cannot be staggered by most attacks, and staggers from bleed and frostbite procs are also prevented. Some light attacks bounce off entirely. It suits aggressive builds that want to trade hits, heal or cast through enemy attacks without being interrupted.

Stats

It grants the Heavy affinity and a Whetblade can switch it to Standard, Keen, Quality, Fire, Flame Art, Lightning, Sacred, Magic, Cold, Poison, Blood or Occult. The skill costs 9 FP. It fits Dagger, Throwing Blade, Straight Sword, Light Greatsword, Greatsword, Colossal Sword, Thrusting Sword, Heavy Thrusting Sword, Curved Sword, Curved Greatsword, Backhand Blade, Katana, Great Katana, Twinblade, Axe, Greataxe, Hammer, Flail, Great Hammer, Colossal Weapon, Spear, Great Spear, Halberd, Reaper, Whip, Fist, Hand-to-Hand Arts, Claw, Beast Claw, Perfume Bottle and Thrusting Shield.

Skill

Activate it just before taking a hit, then use the window to drink a flask, cast a spell or swing back. The buff starts as soon as the FP is spent, but it still does not stop headshots or launching attacks from interrupting. The stance is much slower on greatswords and colossal weapons, so it is easiest to use on a light off-hand weapon.

"Assume an anchored stance to brace for incoming attacks, briefly boosting poise. Damage taken while using this skill is reduced."

Good With

Weapons Dagger, Caestus, Great Mace, Pickaxe, Great Stars
Affinity Heavy is the default, but the skill is purely defensive, so the affinity should match the weapon's own build.
