The Ash of War: Thunderbolt is an Ash of War in Elden Ring that grants the Lightning affinity and the Thunderbolt skill. It is a mid-game find.
Thunderbolt is the skill of the capital's ancient dragon cult: the wielder raises the armament aloft to call down a bolt of lightning on the target, and repeated inputs fire more bolts in rapid succession. The bolts deal pure lightning damage that scales with weapon level and Dexterity, and they spread through water on impact. It turns any melee weapon into a reliable ranged attack. It suits Dexterity builds that want ranged lightning damage without a catalyst.

Skill
Each additional bolt comes slightly faster than the last, so committing to a chain is efficient against slow enemies and bosses. Fighting enemies standing in water adds an extra lightning burst on impact. The bolts cannot be parried, but they deal little stance damage, so they are better for chip damage than for breaking stance.
