The Backhand Blade is a curved blade wielded with a backhand grip, a type of weapon the hornsent have wielded for generations, and fighting with it resembles a deadly dance. It lies beside a coffin in the Inquisitor enemies' area of the Gravesite Plain, northeast of the Scorched Ruins grace. It is a paired weapon, so two-handing dual-wields a second blade, and its light attacks are extremely fast and fluid, with some attacks dealing pierce damage. Its low guard boost limits blocking, though it shares a multi-hit guard counter with the Curseblade's Cirque, and its Blind Spot Ash of War is available only to backhand blades. It scales with Strength and Dexterity at D, weighs 2.0 and suits agile Dexterity or bleed builds.

Stats

The Backhand Blade is the infusable backhand blade, reaching S Dexterity at max upgrade on Keen at only 2.0 weight. Blind Spot is its native skill, so the class's signature dodge-stab comes built in, and a Keen or Blood infusion lets it follow a pure Dexterity or bleed build without giving up that skill.

Skill

Blind Spot costs 9 FP. The wielder darts to the side with a brief window of invulnerability, then gores the target from the flank with a pierce attack. Holding left or right at the start chooses which side the dash goes to. The angled stab slips past an opponent's guard, which makes it a strong answer to enemies who block. It is the weapon's default Ash of War, so another can take its place.

"Leap into close quarters to take advantage of the enemy's blind spot and gore them from the side. Inputs determine which side you strike from. This attack slips below the opponent's guard."
