Smithing Stone [1] is an upgrade material in Elden Ring.

Smithing Stone [1] is the lowest grade of smithing stone. It strengthens regular armaments, the standard weapons and shields, through their first three upgrade levels. It turns up from the opening hours in Limgrave and the Weeping Peninsula. Mines such as the Limgrave Tunnels hold large clusters, so an early weapon reaches +3 quickly.

Use

Any smithing table can use it, such as the anvil beside Merchant Kale in the Church of Elleh. Smithing Master Hewg in Roundtable Hold can also do the work. Each step uses two, then four, then six stones, and it also costs runes.

"Stone used to smith a variety of armaments. A shard found in plenty. Strengthens armaments up to +3. Smithing stone is found throughout the Lands Between, and mining galleries built to excavate it can be found everywhere."

How to Get Smithing Stone [1] Guide

The Miners in Limgrave Tunnels, next to the Limgrave Tunnels Site of Grace, are the best early source.
