Ancient Dragon-Man is a dungeon boss in Elden Ring. It is part of the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion.
The Ancient Dragon-Man is a former Dragon Communion warrior who guards the depths of the Dragon's Pit. He fights like a Tarnished with a great katana spined with gravel stone. His charged Dragonwound Slash can kill in a single hit. Defeating him grants the Dragon-Hunter's Great Katana.
Lore
The Ancient Dragon-Man looks like a man turned into a small, upright dragon of stone. He is bald with a wide jaw, and his skin is stone-black. His eyes have grey irises set in blood-red whites. He wields a great katana with spines of gravel stone along the blade.
The Dragon-Man was once a Dragon Communion warrior. He served as arbiter of those worthy to devour the Dreaded One. He took on his stony form by consuming a Rock Heart.

Attacks
- Dragonwound Slash: he dashes back, leaps and charges his blade red, then sends a wave of heavy damage. A roll to the side of the wave avoids it.
- Charged leaping slash: he jumps and releases a damaging wave as he swings. Striking him in mid-air can knock him down.
- Dragonhead bite: a dragon's head lunges out in front of him. A roll to either side, or forward, avoids it.
- Dodge rolls: he rolls away from attacks, so punishing his own moves works better than attacking first.
- Healing flask: he drinks once at half health, which leaves an opening.
Tactics
- Watch for the red charge of Dragonwound Slash and dodge sideways.
- Punish him after his own attacks or while he heals, instead of attacking into his rolls.
- Corner him against a wall to limit his rolls.
- Use lightning, because he is weakest to it.
- Bait out his single flask drink.
Best Builds
Lightning weapon
He takes the most damage from lightning, and Bolt of Gransax or the Death Knight's Twin Axes deal it innately.
