Black Knight Garrew is a field boss in Elden Ring. It is part of the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion.
Black Knight Garrew is a hulking knight of Messmer's army who guards Fog Rift Fort. He fights with a huge mace and a black steel greatshield. His attacks are slow and easy to read, with long openings after each swing. Reaching him takes a short climb down the cliff platforms below the Scadu Altus, West Site of Grace.
Lore
Garrew is a big knight in black armor etched with gold. He carries a heavy mace and a tall black steel greatshield. The gold Scadutree crest on his armor marks him as one of Messmer's Black Knights.
The Black Knights were the main force of Messmer's army. Their loyalty to their master was absolute, and they never yielded or doubted their crusade. The golden crest on their armor was a consolation for those forced to wage a war without grace or honor.

Attacks
- Mace swings: slow, heavy blows that leave a long opening after they miss.
- Shield bashes: he swings his greatshield as a weapon. A roll back avoids them.
- Charged mace swing: his mace glows yellow before a crushing blow. Rolling back as the glow appears avoids it.
Tactics
- Dodge each slow attack, then counter with heavy attacks before backing off.
- Roll back as soon as the mace glows yellow.
