Ghostflame Dragon is a field boss in Elden Ring. It is one of the expansion's additions, found in the Land of Shadow.
The Ghostflame Dragon is the undead remains of a dragon that drifted into the Realm of Shadow. Three of them roam the Gravesite Plain, Scadu Altus and the Cerulean Coast. Their pale ghostflame breath builds up frostbite. Holy damage cuts through them quickly.
Lore
The Ghostflame Dragon is a massive, rotting dragon with withered wings and exposed bones. A dark veil, perhaps its own decaying skin, hangs over its body. It breathes pale blue ghostflame.
The land of spiritgraves is home to all manner of dead, and even the corpses of fallen dragons found their way there. These rotting dragons clung so tenaciously to life that they became those who live in death.
Where to find Ghostflame Dragon Location?
- Gravesite Plain, in a lake directly west of the Greatbridge, North Site of Grace
- Scadu Altus, at a ruined camp south of the Moorth Ruins, battling Messmer's soldiers (Moorth Highway, South Site of Grace)
- Cerulean Coast, directly south of the Cerulean Coast Site of Grace

Phases
Phase 2: around half health it rears up with its chest burning and unleashes a massive ghostflame blast.
Attacks
- Ghostflame Breath: it lowers its head and sprays pale flame that builds frostbite. A roll left or right, or riding away on Torrent, avoids it.
- Double Chomp: two thrusting bites at mid range. A greatshield blocks them, or a sideways dodge avoids them.
- Stomps: it raises a leg before stamping. Backing away avoids the stomp.
- Ground smash: it takes flight briefly and crashes down. Moving away as it rises avoids the impact.
- Ghostflame explosion: it rears up with a burning chest and blasts the area. Running away until the animation ends avoids it.
Tactics
- Use holy damage, because the dragon takes extra damage from holy.
- Fight on foot near its legs, which are its weakest point, and save Torrent for escaping.
- Dodge every ghostflame breath to avoid frostbite buildup.
- Jump attack its head for stance damage, then land a critical hit when it falls.
- In Scadu Altus, let Messmer's soldiers wear the dragon down before joining the fight.
- Run far away when its chest begins to burn.
