Scaly Misbegotten is a dungeon boss in Elden Ring.
The Scaly Misbegotten is a hulking, scaled beast man with stubby wings and a massive axe. It guards the end of Morne Tunnel in the middle of the Weeping Peninsula. Its swings are heavy but very slow and easy to read. That makes it a good place to practice guard counters and backstabs before the misbegotten of Castle Morne.
Lore
The Scaly Misbegotten is a broad, hunched brute covered in scales, with small wings and a thick tail. It carries a huge, rusted axe and fights with its head and tail as well.
The misbegotten are held to be a punishment for contact with the Crucible. From birth they are treated as slaves, or worse.
Their heavy iron weapons are steeped in resentment and swung wildly and relentlessly.

Attacks
- Axe Swing: it slowly raises the axe, steps in and swings; roll behind it and backstab.
- Tail Swipe: it raises its tail and spins with the tail and then the axe, usually against foes behind it; roll away or backstab during the wind up.
- Rolling Headbutt: it rolls forward and smashes its head into the ground; roll as it lifts its head.
- Head Slam: it jumps and slams its head down with a small shockwave; roll through or jump over the wave.
Tactics
- Circle behind it during its long wind ups and land a backstab.
- Block a big swing with full stamina and answer with a guard counter.
- Parry its slow, clear axe swings.
- Dodge each swing and land a few hits before backing off.
- Summon Lone Wolf Ashes to keep it turning.

Pierce or fire damage
It takes extra damage from thrusting attacks and fire, so Fire Grease and fire incantations work well.
