The Bard is Valory, a survivor and craftsperson in Enshrouded. Valory carves musical instruments, crafts backpacks and shares tales from her travels. She is rescued at Sunken Ancient City in Revelwood.

Rescue
The Flame gives the quest once the character reaches level 12. The quest leads through a new passage in the north of the Revelwood into the Blackmire. The Ancient Spire - Blackmire must be ignited first. Valory sleeps in a large central building of the Sunken Ancient City, and three buttons around the city unlock its doors.

Crafting
Valory crafts medium and large backpacks that add inventory space. She crafts musical instruments such as lutes, harps, drums and flutes. She crafts cosmetic armor. She crafts wall decorations, paintings, tapestries and banners.

Services
Playing her instruments extends the Rested buff and can refill it while exploring. Valory carves lutes, harps, drums and flutes for the player to play. Rested comes from resting in a comfortable base, so an instrument keeps that bonus alive far from home. She also crafts medium and large backpacks, which add inventory space. Her wall decorations, paintings and banners add comfort to a base as well.

Lore
Valory is a well-travelled bard, found in the Sunken Ancient City during the quest Follow The Melody. Valory is a longtime friend of Queen Jezmina. Her many stories from her travels of Embervale are vivid and the melodies she plays on her Lute just as sweet. As a child, Jezmina broke a string on Valory's lyre, and the two sealed a lifelong friendship with a Kindlewaste blood oath. She grew up on a farm and carved her flute instead of sowing seeds. She followed a bright light in the night sky through the Shroud, and escaped a Vukah ambush along the way.
