Charred Arrow is your answer at range when the charred legions pour out of a fortress in the Ashlands. It deals 82 pierce damage. At 82 total damage it ranks 4th among ammunition, so it is a step on the ladder rather than the top of it. Pierce damage hurts a Tick or a Troll more than most things, and that is the reason to carry it.

You craft it at a level 1 Black Forge from:

• 4x Charred Bone: dropped by the Charred in the Ashlands.
• 2x Feathers: dropped by Crows and Gulls, and found in chests in the Meadows.
• 8x Ashwood: chopped from Scorched Trees in the Ashlands.

When to Use It

This is a late game arrow. Charred Bone drops from the Charred and Ashwood is chopped from Scorched Trees, both in the Ashlands, the furthest south the map goes.

Properties

With 82 pierce, it is the hardest arrow in the game. It is the last step of the chain, made at a Black Forge from Ashlands materials.

The catch is that pierce is the most resisted damage type in the game, and 24 creatures resist it. Against those, an elemental arrow from a worse bow beats this one from a better bow. That is worth checking in the Ashlands: the Charred resist pierce and are weak to spirit, so a Silver Arrow can still out-damage this one there.
