The Charred Arrow is a piece of ammunition in Valheim, dealing 82 pierce. At 82 total damage it is 4th of the 26 ammunition, so it is a step on the ladder rather than the top of it. Pierce damage hurts Tick and Troll more than most things, which is what to carry it for.

How to Craft

Crafted at Black forge, station level 1.
Costs 4x Charred bone, 2x Feathers, 8x Ashwood at quality 1.
Materials can be found in the Ashlands biome.

When to Use It

Late game. Flametal is in the Ashlands, the furthest south the map goes and, until 1.0, the hardest biome in the game.

Properties

82 pierce, the hardest arrow in the game. The last step of the chain, out of a Black forge with Ashlands materials.

But it is pierce, the most resisted type in the game. 24 of the 61 creatures with a published resistance table cut it. Against those, an elemental arrow out of a worse bow beats this out of a better one. In the Ashlands that is worth checking: the Charred resist pierce and are weak to spirit, so a silver arrow can still out-damage this one there.

Notes

Ammunition damage is added to the weapon's base damage before any other calculation, which is why the arrow and not the bow decides a shot's damage type.
Arrows are fired by bows and bolts by crossbows; the 2 are not interchangeable.
With more than one kind in the inventory, right-clicking the stack selects which is used.
