Even the first sorceress valued the mystique of covering one's face. It is rumoured that honouring her this way will make your spells even more powerful.

Hood of Embla is the step up from the Eitr-Weave Hood, and you can sew it at the Galdr Table once Asksvin Hide starts coming out of the Ashlands. It gives 19 armour, or 25 fully upgraded, which ranks it 6th among helmets. Worn with the rest of the Embla Set, it is part of a 57 armour rating, enough to turn a 100-damage hit into 44.

How to Craft

You craft it at a level 2 Galdr Table from:

Name Image Biome Crafting Station Spawn ID
Linen Thread Linen Thread Plains Spinning Wheel spawn LinenThread
Refined Eitr Refined Eitr Mistlands Eitr Refinery spawn Eitr
Asksvin Hide Asksvin Hide Ashlands - spawn AskHide

When to Use It

This is late game gear. Asksvin Hide drops from Asksvin in the Ashlands, the furthest south the map goes.

Upgrades

You can upgrade it 3 times after crafting, and each level needs the station one level higher than the last. The stats quoted on this page are for quality 1, so the table below shows where your own copy sits:

Quality Crafting Station Armor Durability Resources
1 Galdr table (Level 2) 19 1000
2 Galdr table (Level 3) 21 1200
3 Galdr table (Level 4) 23 1400

Properties

Notes

  • Armor lowers physical, fire, frost and lightning damage, but poison and spirit damage go straight through it.
  • While your armor is less than half of a hit's damage, it is simply subtracted from the hit. Once it reaches half the damage or more, the damage taken becomes the damage squared divided by four times your armor, so doubling your armor halves the damage you take.
  • Your armor rating is the total of the helmet, chest, leg and cape pieces you wear.
