Primal Slayer is for the point where the Ashlands stops sending enemies one at a time. It is a two-handed blade with a jade worked into it, so the poison carries through the whole arc. It deals 170 slash and 10 poison, and its 180 total damage matches the Scourging Slayer. Morgen resist blunt, fire, pierce and slash, but not poison, so the poison reaches them in full, though it is a small share of each hit. Poison damage also hurts the Cultist and Ulv more than most mobs.
How to Craft
You craft it at a level 4 black forge with this recipe:
- 1x Slayer: made at a black forge.
- 15x Flametal: smelted from flametal ore in a blast furnace.
- 1x Jade: found in the charred fortresses of the Ashlands.
| Name | Image | Biome | Crafting Station | Spawn ID |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Slayer | Ashlands | Black Forge | spawn THSwordSlayer
| |
| Flametal | Ashlands | Blast Furnace | spawn FlametalNew
| |
| Jade | Ashlands | - | spawn GemstoneGreen
|
When to Use It
This is a late game weapon. Flametal comes from the Ashlands, the furthest south the map goes.
Upgrades
You can upgrade it 3 times after crafting, and each level needs the station built one step higher than the last. The other figures on this page are for quality 1, so this table shows where your own copy sits on the ladder:
| Quality | Crafting Station | Slash | Poison | Durability | Resources |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Black forge (Level 4) | 170 | 10 | 200 | |
| 2 | Black forge (Level 5) | 176 | 10 | 250 | |
| 3 | Black forge (Level 6) | 182 | 10 | 300 | |
| 4 | Black forge (Level 7) | 188 | 10 | 350 |

Properties
This is crowd control on the biggest swing. Jade adds 10 poison and a 20% chance to immobilise for 10 seconds, and a two-handed primary attack that catches 3 enemies rolls for it 3 times. Immobilise stops movement and turning, but not attacking or blocking.
The poison adds almost nothing. Many creatures are immune to poison, and the ones that are not mostly live outside the Ashlands. Take this sword to pin a pack in place, and take the Scourging Slayer if you want damage.
Notes
- When you block with a shield, the shield's block power, parry force and parry bonus replace the sword's own.
- The 3-hit primary combo deals double damage on the third hit, and sword damage is not split between the enemies a single swing catches.
- The secondary attack deals 3 times damage with a little more reach, at double the stamina cost.
- Upgrading does not raise the poison, which is 10 at quality 1 and still 10 at quality 4. The upgrades raise slash from 170 to 188.
