Burning Desire, called Night Moves later in the story, is a side job that can only be described as a medical emergency. On Farrier Street, north of Megabuilding H10 in Little China, Watson, a man named Jesse Johnson stands without trousers, moaning and clutching his crotch. His Mr. Studd implant is malfunctioning, and he needs a ripperdoc right now.
Story
A Smoking Problem
The journal loves it. That is the great thing about Night City: there is no chance of ever getting bored. Where else would some guy with a smoking crotch jump into V's car begging for a ride? It asks V to show some sympathy, and get him to a ripper before the implant explodes all over the dashboard.
Jesse explains that his Mr. Studd implant has gone haywire. He begs V to drive him to the nearest clinic, run by the ripperdoc Cassius Ryder in Northside, and promises to pay.
The Drive
The route north is full of roadblocks, and the clock is ticking. If V is too slow, the implant gives out. In front of the clinic, Jesse jumps out and runs inside, and his number appears in V's contacts under the name "Flaming Crotch Man".
The Call
Some time later, Jesse calls. The operation was a success, he is thankful for V's help, and he sends a payment.

Notes
- The job is named Burning Desire, after the Jimi Hendrix song, during the first act. Later it becomes Night Moves, after the song by Bob Seger.
- If V owns no car at all during Human Nature, while V's Archer Hella is being repaired, a Makigai MaiMai appears for the drive instead.
