The Treespear is a Great Spear in Elden Ring.

When to Use It

Early game. It is found around Limgrave, in the opening stretch of a run, so it is one of the first real upgrades you can carry.

Why Players Pick It

The odd one out and the best early pick: it takes ordinary Smithing Stones and CAN be weapon-buffed even though it cannot be infused. 122 physical / 79 holy at +0, 298 / 193 at max standard. It good for Dex/Faith and easy to get early, and says its charged double-tap R2 combo 'excels at breaking enemy posture'. Chest in a carriage south of Liurnia Highway South.

Upgrades

Ordinary Smithing Stones carry it all the way to +25, and because it is not a Somber weapon it will also hold a grease or a weapon buff, which is a damage source the unique blades simply do not have.

Build

Its scaling runs Str at D, Dex at D and Fai at D, so Str, Dex and Fai are the stats worth levelling, and you need Str 15, Dex 22 and Fai 18 before you can lift it. Any Ash of War and any affinity will sit on it, so its scaling can be re-cut towards whichever stat you are already levelling.

Notes

Golden spear with tree-like design. Wielded by knights employed as palace guards in the Royal Capital of Leyndell. Deals holy damage. Requiring superior dexterity to wield, this greatspear can perform consecutive thrust attacks despite its larger size.
