The Antspur Rapier is a Thrusting Sword in Elden Ring.

When to Use It

Mid game. It is found around Shaded Castle, which opens up past Stormveil Castle, so it arrives once a build has taken shape.

Why Players Pick It

55 innate scarlet rot at +0 AND still infusible. Infusing drops the innate rot slightly. 20 Dex required; drops from Maleigh Marais outside the Shaded Castle.

Upgrades

Ordinary Smithing Stones carry it all the way to +25, and because it is not a Somber weapon it will also hold a grease or a weapon buff, which is a damage source the unique blades simply do not have.

Build

Its scaling runs Str at D and Dex at D, so Str and Dex are the stats worth levelling, and you need Str 10 and Dex 20 before you can lift it. Any Ash of War and any affinity will sit on it, so its scaling can be re-cut towards whichever stat you are already levelling. It also causes scarlet rot buildup (55) on its own, with no infusion needed.

Notes

Spur of a giant ant which has been fashioned into a rapier. The blade drips with scarlet rot. Scarlet rot is an old legend, of which Maleigh Marais of the Shaded Castle was a private believer. And indeed, he eventually found his own personal goddess.
