The Cleanrot Spear is a Spear in Elden Ring.

When to Use It

Mid game. It is found around Caelid, which opens up past Stormveil Castle, so it arrives once a build has taken shape.

Upgrades

It takes Somber Smithing Stones rather than the common kind, one per level up to +10, and it keeps its own skill for good: no Ash of War will replace it and no affinity will re-cut its scaling.

Skill

Sacred Phalanx costs 12 FP. Release the power of a hidden incantation to erect a palisade of golden spears frontwards. It belongs to this weapon alone: no Ash of War will move it onto anything else, and nothing will replace it here.

Build

Its scaling runs Str at D, Dex at D and Fai at D, so Str, Dex and Fai are the stats worth levelling, and you need Str 16, Dex 16 and Fai 14 before you can lift it. Because the skill is its own, the build has to come to the weapon rather than the other way round. It also raises Immunity by 50 on its own, with no infusion needed.

Notes

Spear of the Cleanrot Knights who fought alongside Malenia, Blade of Miquella. The winged golden blade deals holy damage. The diminutive shield is blessed with an incantation that wards off rot.

How to Get Cleanrot Spear Guide

1% chance to be dropped by various spear-wielding Cleanrot Knights found for example in the Swamp of Aeonia and Elphael, Brace of the Haligtree.
