The Ash of War: Sacred Blade is an Ash of War in Elden Ring that grants the Sacred affinity and the Sacred Blade skill. It can be picked up early in a run.
Sacred Blade enchants the armament with holy essence for 40 seconds, adding holy damage to every attack, then slashes horizontally to fire a golden blade projectile at a single target. While the buff lasts, attacks deal double damage to Those Who Live in Death and keep skeletons from reviving. The projectile deals pure holy damage that scales with Faith, and the skill has hyper armor during the cast. It suits Faith builds and anyone fighting undead enemies.

It grants the Sacred affinity and a Whetblade can switch it to Standard, Keen, Heavy, Quality or Lightning. The skill costs 19 FP. How to Get Ash of War: Sacred Blade Guide
- Dropped by a Teardrop Scarab on a hill past the pond north of the Third Church of Marika in Limgrave, near a Spiritspring.
- The scarab sits close to the bottom of the hill.
- Once obtained, it can be duplicated by trading Lost Ashes of War to Smithing Master Hewg at the Roundtable Hold.

Skill
At close range both the slash and the projectile connect, so the skill hits much harder in melee than at a distance. The projectile is best aimed at weak points, such as the head of a Death Bird. The buff is applied before the projectile leaves, so the skill can be used once at the start of a fight and the weapon keeps its holy damage afterward.
