The Noble's Slender Sword is a Straight Sword in Elden Ring.
When to Use It
Early game. It is found around Limgrave, in the opening stretch of a run, so it is one of the first real upgrades you can carry.
Upgrades
Ordinary Smithing Stones carry it all the way to +25, and because it is not a Somber weapon it will also hold a grease or a weapon buff, which is a damage source the unique blades simply do not have.
Build
Its scaling runs Str at E and Dex at C, so Dex is the stat worth levelling, and you need Str 8 and Dex 11 before you can lift it. Any Ash of War and any affinity will sit on it, so its scaling can be re-cut towards whichever stat you are already levelling.
Critical Damage
Critical 110. A backstab, or a riposte after a guard break, is multiplied by this, where 100 is the baseline most weapons carry.
- The highest critical of its class.
- It pays for getting behind an enemy or breaking their stance rather than trading hits in the open.
Notes
Narrow blade carried by wandering nobles. Made to be easy to wield. Daubed with gold from tip to tail, it should fetch a good sum.
How to Get Noble's Slender Sword Guide
- Dropped by Wandering Nobles that wield it with a 0.5% drop rate.
- These specific nobles are distinguished by wearing the Aristocrat Garb (Altered) and Aristocrat Boots.
- Sword-and-torch-wielding nobles will not drop the sword.
- The Carriage on the road that runs north from the Agheel Lake South Site of Grace has several of these Nobles in its caravan.
