Ranni's Dark Moon is a Carian sorcery in Elden Ring. It becomes available in the middle of a run.

Ranni's Dark Moon is a legendary sorcery associated with the Carian queen, the cold, dark moon a young Ranni encountered while led by the hand of her mother, Rennala. The caster floats and incarnates a dark moon that drifts toward foes, dispelling any spell in its path and exploding on contact with heavy frostbite buildup. Any enemy hit takes more magic damage for a full minute, and if frostbite procs the two debuffs stack, making it an excellent opener before a burst of other sorceries. It cannot be charged or cast on horseback, and the Carian Regal Scepter and Snow Witch Hat both boost its damage. It suits Carian and frost sorcerers who want to soften up bosses for their main damage spells.
