The Mountain's Shadow Set is an Albaneve Summits warrior armor set for two-handed weapons such as hammers and greatswords. Its strength is two-handed damage and critical hits backed by heavy health, with frost resistance on every piece. The Blacksmith crafts it, and pieces also turn up in chests.

Pieces

The helmet raises the chance and the damage of melee critical hits. The gloves add a large two-handed damage bonus and extra damage against melee enemies. The chest brings a big block of health, and the trousers add more health and regeneration. The boots speed up health regeneration and start it sooner. Frost resistance on each piece delays hypothermia in the cold of the Albaneve Summits.

How to Get Mountain's Shadow Set Guide

The Blacksmith makes every piece. Armor recipes unlock on their own each time the Flame is upgraded, one crafting tier at a time. The recipes use the materials of the mountains: Warm Padding, Silver Bars, Steel Bars, Obsidian and Enshrouded Ice, with an Enshrouded Cyclops Eye for the helmet.

Levelling and Upgrades

The Blacksmith upgrades warrior armor for Runes. Crafted pieces are rare quality, while chests can hold common to legendary ones. The quality sets how many upgrade perks a piece can unlock. Legendary pieces unlock the most and need Legendary Runes for the later steps. The perks here add resistance to blunt, piercing, cutting and Shroud damage, more health, and extra levels in skills such as Barbarian's Path, Brute and Blood Rage. Upgraded gear peaks at level 55, far above the Albaneve Summits tier. The two-handed line continues with the Sunpiercer Set in the Veilwater Basin, and then with the Emberguard armor of Cinder's Cradle. Outgrown pieces salvage back into runes.

Lore

The helmet's crest throws a shadow over the eyes and hides the wearer's intent. The chest's description says the mountain crags always cast a dark shadow over the valleys, and the armor lets its wearer travel through that dark like a freezing gust.

Tips

The Mountain's Shadow Set is made for two-handed weapons such as hammers and greatswords. Players who fight with one-handed swords get more from the Wolf's Fang Set of the same tier. Every piece adds frost resistance, which delays hypothermia in the cold of the Albaneve Summits. The recipes need Warm Padding, which the Hunter makes once she has a Spinning Machine for raw wool. The two-handed line continues with the Sunpiercer Set in the Veilwater Basin.
