The Blade of Sacrifice is a unique ebony dagger with 10 base damage. It weighs 4, lighter than a normal Ebony Dagger. From level 30, a free copy can be looted from the cultist who dies in the fight pit at the Sacellum of Boethiah.

- Travel to the Sacellum of Boethiah.
- Loot the Blade of Sacrifice from the cultist who dies in the fight pit.
- Begin Boethiah's Calling at the shrine.
- Kill all the cult members and loot more copies from their bodies.

Weapon Levels
Some weapons in Skyrim are Levelled. The power of a levelled weapon is based on your charcters level when you get them. Some get stronger in both physical and magical aspects, while others only improve their enchantments. These items don't get better as your character levels up.
Blade of Sacrifice has the same damage at every character level.

How It Plays
The Blade of Sacrifice is a ceremonial Ebony Dagger made for one grim task. As a weapon, it is a plain ebony dagger in a darker finish. Its damage matches a normal Ebony Dagger, and it weighs a little less.
The dagger suits a stealth build. Daggers are the weapon of choice for sneak attacks. Backstab makes one-handed sneak attacks deal six times damage, and Assassin's Blade raises dagger sneak attacks to fifteen times. An ebony blade reached at the Sacellum of Boethiah gives a sneaking character a strong dagger without needing to forge one.
It is tempered with an Ebony Ingot, but no Smithing perk doubles the improvement. A crafted Ebony Dagger gains from the Ebony Smithing Perk, and it can also be enchanted. A late game assassin will usually get more from a crafted dagger. The Blade of Sacrifice is still worth taking as a free ebony blade or a display piece.
Getting a Copy
Every cultist at the Sacellum of Boethiah carries a Blade of Sacrifice. On the first visit, two cultists fight to the death in a small pit beside the shrine. The loser's body holds a free copy, so the dagger can be taken without agreeing to anything.
More copies can be taken from the other cultists. A thief with the Misdirection perk can lift one from each of them. Once the quest turns the cultists against each other, their bodies can also be looted after the fight.
Quest Background
Boethiah's Calling opens at level 30. The book Boethiah's Proving begins to appear around Skyrim, and reading it marks the shrine on the map. The Sacellum of Boethiah lies in the mountains above Traitor's Post, northeast of Windhelm.
The Priestess of Boethiah hands over the dagger with her instructions. The first test is a lie: "Find someone. Gain his trust. Lead him to the shrine above." The chosen follower is told to touch the Pillar of Sacrifice, which traps them in place. The priestess then asks for the ceremonial blade to be planted deep in the victim's heart.
Despite her words, any weapon or Destruction spell completes the sacrifice. The Blade of Sacrifice is simply the tool the cult expects. When the follower dies, Boethiah speaks through the body. She orders every cultist to fight, and the last one standing earns her attention.
Boethiah then needs a new champion. The old one waits with his bandits at Knifepoint Ridge, northwest of Falkreath. Killing him and wearing his Ebony Mail completes the quest, and the armor becomes the reward.
Notes
The Priestess of Boethiah asks for the follower to be sacrificed with this dagger, but any weapon works.
