The Ironhead Arrow is a piece of ammunition in Valheim, dealing 42 pierce. At 42 total damage it is 16th of the 26 ammunition, so it is a step on the ladder rather than the top of it. Pierce damage hurts Troll more than most things, which is what to carry it for.

How to Craft

Crafted at Forge, station level 2.
Costs 8x Wood, 1x Iron, 2x Feathers at quality 1.
Materials can be found in the Swamp biome.

When to Use It

Early game. Iron comes out of Sunken Crypts in the Swamp, so this arrives once The Elder is down.

Properties

42 pierce, the next step up from the bronzehead arrow. The chain continues with the obsidian arrow.

But it is pierce, the most resisted type in the game. 24 of the 61 creatures with a published resistance table cut it. Against those, an elemental arrow out of a worse bow beats this out of a better one.

Notes

Ammunition damage is added to the weapon's base damage before any other calculation, which is why the arrow and not the bow decides a shot's damage type.
Arrows are fired by bows and bolts by crossbows; the 2 are not interchangeable.
With more than one kind in the inventory, right-clicking the stack selects which is used.
