Skoll and Hati are named for the wolves that run down the sun and the moon. They pair Black Metal taken off the Fulings of the Plains with a Black Forge that only the Mistlands can build. It deals 45 slash and 45 pierce, 90 across all types, the highest total damage of any knife in the game. Pierce damage hurts Trolls more than most things, which is what you carry it for.
How to Craft
Made at a level 1 black forge, from:
- 4x Finewood: Chopped from birch and oak trees with a bronze axe or better.
- 10x Iron: Smelted from scrap iron in a smelter.
- 10x Black Metal: Smelted from black metal scrap in a blast furnace.

When to Use It
Mid game. Black Metal drops from Fulings in the Plains, well past Moder.
Upgrades
It can be upgraded 3 times after crafting, and each level needs the station built one step higher than the last. Every other figure on this page is for quality 1, so this table shows where your own copy sits:

Properties
This is the first two-handed knife, and the only one. Its 45 slash and 45 pierce are a third more than the Black Metal Knife deals, but you give up the shield that a knife build normally depends on entirely.
That trade is sharper here than anywhere else. A knife carries 2 block armour, so the off-hand was your whole guard. Without it, the build is committed to never being hit, relying on stealth, the leap and a dodge roll.
It needs a level 1 Black Forge, so it arrives the day the station does.
Notes
- Sköll and Hati are the ghostly wolves of Norse myth who chase Sól and Máni across the sky. In Old Norse the names mean roughly Treachery and He Who Hates, which the in-game description plays on.
