Sulfur is the reagent behind Valheim's loudest crafting. You pick it by hand from the rocks hanging beneath the sulfur arches of the Ashlands, and it also drops from the Lava Blobs that bounce across the ash fields.
How to Get It
The rocks hang under the black Grausten arches dotted around the Ashlands, and you pick them by hand without a pickaxe. That means the material is gated by surviving the biome rather than by tool tier. Getting there means sailing the burning sea, which sets an unprotected ship alight. Staying there means Fire Resistance Barley Wine and armour from the tier before. Lava Blobs drop it too, but they explode into fire when they die, so they are better shot than punched. Sulfur is light enough to carry in quantity, and it can go home through a portal.
