The Wood Shutter is the game's answer to an open window: a small hinged panel that closes off a gap in a wall and swings aside when you want the light back. It sits in the Windows & Dividers tab, and unlike the plain planks around it, it needs Bronze Nails as well as timber.
How to Build It
It takes four Wood and two Bronze Nails, placed within reach of a Workbench. The nails are the real gate here, since they are beaten out at a Forge from a Bronze ingot, so a shuttered window is a Black Forest comfort rather than a first-night one. Being timber, it soaks up rain damage on an exposed wall, which is exactly where windows tend to go. Keep an eye on its condition or tuck it under a deep eave.
