The Jar Cannon is a Ballista in Elden Ring. It has the highest physical attack of any ballista in the game. It becomes available partway through a run, on Mt. Gelmir.
The Jar Cannon is an experimental firearm that uses explosives to fire greatbolts, brought to the assault on Volcano Manor where it was discovered that no one knew how to use it. It drops from Demi-Human Queen Margot at the end of the Volcano Cave. It deals great damage but is slow to reload, so positioning and aim matter, and it accepts any greatbolt. It has no stat scaling and must be two-handed to fire, which means only 23 Strength and 12 Dexterity are needed. Using the recoil to drop backward off a waist-high ledge skips the long post-firing animation, allowing two shots in the time of one.
Stats
The Jar Cannon lands the hardest single hit of any ranged weapon, 192 physical at +0 and 672 at maximum, with heavy stamina damage. Its Strength demand drops sharply because it must be two-handed, and using the recoil to drop off a waist-high ledge skips the recovery animation and nearly doubles its fire rate.
How to Get Jar Cannon Guide

Skill
Kick costs no FP. The wielder plants a high front kick that pushes the enemy back and deals enormous stamina damage to anyone guarding, breaking the guard of nearly any shield. The kick itself deals little damage and costs no FP. The Divine Bird Warrior Greaves boost it.
Suggested Build
A heavy burst cannon fired from safe positions and buffed before each shot; dropping off small ledges with the recoil lets it fire again sooner.
