Somber Smithing Stone [4] is an upgrade material in Elden Ring.
Somber Smithing Stone [4] takes a special armament from +3 to +4. Caelid holds most of it, in the Sellia Crystal Tunnel, Gael Tunnel and the Swamp of Aeonia. It belongs to the stretch of a run between Liurnia and the Altus Plateau. War Counselor Iji keeps only a small stock of it.
Use
Smithing Master Hewg in Roundtable Hold or War Counselor Iji in Liurnia of the Lakes performs the upgrade. Each level of a special armament takes one somber stone of the matching grade. The upgrade also costs runes.
"Large hard smithing stone drained of color. Strengthens special armaments to +4. Special armaments with unique characteristics cannot be strengthened with colored smithing stones. Number of steps and amount strengthened differ from standard equipment."
