Somber Smithing Stone [6] is an upgrade material in Elden Ring.
Somber Smithing Stone [6] takes a special armament from +5 to +6. It is common in Leyndell, Volcano Manor, Deeproot Depths and the Ainsel River. Several bosses and scarabs drop it. It matters in the middle of a run, around the Royal Capital.
Use
Smithing Master Hewg in Roundtable Hold or War Counselor Iji in Liurnia of the Lakes performs the upgrade. Each level of a special armament takes one somber stone of the matching grade. The upgrade also costs runes.
"Large gold smithing stone drained of color. Strengthens special armaments to +6. Special armaments with unique characteristics cannot be strengthened with colored smithing stones. Number of steps and amount strengthened differ from standard equipment."
