Somber Smithing Stone [7] is an upgrade material in Elden Ring.
Somber Smithing Stone [7] takes a special armament from +6 to +7. Nokstella, the Lake of Rot and Deeproot Depths hold the earliest copies. Most of the rest lies in the Mountaintops of the Giants and Crumbling Farum Azula. It marks the move into the late game.
Use
Smithing Master Hewg in Roundtable Hold or War Counselor Iji in Liurnia of the Lakes performs the upgrade. Each level of a special armament takes one somber stone of the matching grade. The upgrade also costs runes.
"Polar smithing stone drained of color. Strengthens special armaments to +7. Special armaments with unique characteristics cannot be strengthened with colored smithing stones. Number of steps and amount strengthened differ from standard equipment."
