Rakshasa is a dungeon boss in Elden Ring. It is one of the expansion's additions, found in the Land of Shadow.
Rakshasa is a blood-soaked warrior whose spirit waits in the Eastern Nameless Mausoleum, hidden behind a waterfall on the Recluses' River. She fights like a Tarnished with a huge great katana and fierce follow-up slashes. The mausoleum shuts out spirit ashes. Her reward is her great katana and her full set of armor.
Lore
Rakshasa wears steel armor soaked in the spurting blood of her victims. Ragged tatters of cloth jut from it as if her lust for carnage might break free. She wields a great katana whose blade pattern is forever stained red.
Rakshasa lives only to cut down and devour. Only those who repeat that cycle without rest can truly subvert the self and become Rakshasa.

Attacks
- Backstep slash: she steps back slightly before a heavy slash. The step is the cue to dodge.
- Leaping Slash: she jumps into the air and slashes down. Striking her in mid-air interrupts it.
- Double Slash: two quick katana cuts. A roll to the left or right avoids them.
- Follow-up strikes: she chains extra slashes after a hit, so rushing in recklessly is deadly.
Tactics
- Bring a shield for parries and guard counters, since she uses only melee attacks.
- Watch for her backstep before each heavy slash.
- Knock her out of her leaping slash with a mid-air hit.
- Retreat and guard often, because she counters unless staggered first.
- Use lightning, because she takes extra damage from it.

She takes extra damage from lightning, and the Dragon Greatclaw or Death Knight's Longhaft Axe can stagger her.
