Surat's Rest is a town in the south of the Nomad Highlands, now held by Scavengers. Its notes describe it as a place of racketeering, corrupt courts and fraud. Escaped inmates from Raven's Keep later set its rooftops on fire. Today it is ruled by the boss Scavenger Matron Kendal, the sister of Lupa, who leads the Scavengers at Lupa's Lair. The Scavengers stage hound fights in an arena pit, and they keep the loot of their raids here. Several quests lead to the town, including the search for the Farmer's lost almanac.
Where to Find Surat's Rest - Map Location
Surat's Rest lies in the far south of the Nomad Highlands. Fox Chase and its Shroud Root lie a short way south-west. The Smuggler Camp and Trade Outpost "Nomad's Drop" lie to the north. A Gem Forge and a Night Sanctum stand to the west.

Quests
In "Nursery Supplies", a smuggler's note reveals that crates marked as nursery supplies are really weapons for the Contractor's rebel army. Some crates hold explosives, and finding their buried spot rewards a silver chest. The town is also where the Farmer's Almanac of Plants and Seedlings ended up after a Scavenger raid on Queen Jezmina's caravan. In Pit Fights, a note tells of a young knight who challenged the matron in the arena and was killed in an unfair fight. Her body was dropped down the cliff, and saving her soul brings Gabrielle Fairburn to the base.

Enemies
Scavengers fill the streets, the rafters and a small camp at the edge of town. The Scavenger Matron is the boss of Surat's Rest. The Pit Fights note describes her answering a challenge with a fountain of bile, so her acid attacks are best dodged. In older worlds, the Farmer's almanac is taken from her body.

Unique Loot
Wooden Tooth is a two-handed hammer carved by Vukah craftsmen. Its description says it looks like a large tooth and is very good at removing them. It lies on the west side of the camp, behind an explosive barrel. The town also holds the Ornate Flute of the Honeydews band, the Verily Verdant dye and the Cowlick Wig Head.

Chests
Most chests here are wooden ones spread through the houses, the eastern tower and a small platform. The silver chest in the small Scavenger camp is buried under an explosive barrel lying in gravel next to a flag. Blowing up the barrel exposes the chest. A wooden chest sits in a tent in the same camp.

Hidden Chests

Lore Pages
"Mind the 'Nursery Supplies'" is the smuggler Benni's note to Elias about the buried weapon crates, found up a ladder in the building right of the town gate. "None Can Fool Me!" lies on a table in the centre of town. In it, a Scavenger sees through a friend named Thor, who kept part of the loot from Jezmina's tent and hid it at the top of the old watchtower. "The Fearsome Dragon" is a Scavenger's story about a dragon with glowing eyes in a cave. The others laughed at the tale because the writer had been drinking moonshine.

Caravan Raid is the lore quest built on the two notes about the raid on Jezmina's caravan. Thor's hidden treasure waits at the top of the old watchtower on the east side of town. An anvil also stands in town.
