Dwarven Metal Ingot is a smithing material in Skyrim, made at a smelter. There is no Dwarven ore anywhere in the province. Scrap metal salvaged from Dwemer ruins smelts into ingots instead, and a single ruin can yield dozens.
Uses
Dwarven armour and weapons, and nothing else. The scrap is heavy to carry, so smelting on the way out of a ruin is usually worth the detour.
Tempering consumes one ingot per item improved, so keeping a stock matters as much as having enough to forge with in the first place. Smelting grants no Smithing experience; only forging and tempering do.
