The Dwarven Crossbow is one of the best weapons for ranged attacks in Skyrim since it does more damage than any other bow in the game. The Dwarven Crossbow is the Dwemer version of the regular Crossbow employed by the Dawnguard Faction, a group of vampire hunters. It shares the same projectile speed as the Dragonbone Bow but deals more damage.

Where to find the Dwarven Crossbow Location?
To get the Dwarven Crossbow you must do the following series of quests:
- First join the Dawnguard which can be done by traveling to Fort Dawnguard.
- Make sure you side with the Dawnguard in the 3rd quest Bloodline.
- After you will start the quest A New Order. During this quest you must recruit Sorine Jurard who will give you the side quest: Ancient Technology.
- During this series of side quests during (on the second-to-last quest) you will obtain the Dwarven Crossbow Schematic. After this point Sorine Jurard will start selling Dwarven Crossbows to you. If you ask, she can also teach you how to craft the Dwarven crossbows.
- If you complete all 6 of the Ancient Technology quests you can get the even more powerful Enhanced Dwarven Crossbow.
How to get a Dwarven Crossbow if you don't side with the Dawnguard?
Note that you can miss the chance to obtain the Dwarven Crossbow if you sided with Harkon during the quest Bloodline since it locks you out from the Dawnguard faction and Fort Dawnguard. If you have the Skyrim Anniversary Edition or have separately purchased the Expanded Crossbow Pack from the Creation Club Content Store, you can get the much more powerful Daedric Crossbow at level 1! Unlike the Crossbows added by Dawnguard, the enhanced version of these crossbows can be crafted at any regular Forge.

Weapon Levels
Some weapons in Skyrim are Levelled. The power of a levelled weapon is based on your charcters level when you get them. Some get stronger in both physical and magical aspects, while others only improve their enchantments. These items don't get better as your character levels up.
The Dwarven Crossbow is not a leveled weapon.
