Sixteen Flametal go into a Flametal gate, the last and heaviest entry in the Doors & Gates menu. It opens and shuts like any other gate, but it is cast from Ashlands metal rather than wood or iron. That is what you want across the only way into a base that sits somewhere actively trying to burn it down.
How to Build It
The cost is 16 Flametal and nothing else, and the hammer will only place or repair it with a Black Forge in range. Flametal is smelted from ore mined in the Ashlands, so this gate belongs at the very end of a run rather than the start. Hang it in a stone or flametal wall while you are at it, because a metal gate set between wooden posts is only as strong as the posts holding it.
