Huntsman Bow is the bow for shots you would rather nobody heard. It is quieter than any other bow, and it is the first bow that iron from the Swamp lets you craft. It deals 42 pierce damage, and with 42 total damage it ranks 7th among bows, so it is a step on the ladder rather than the top of it. Pierce damage hurts a Troll more than most things do, and that is what to carry it for.
How to Craft
You craft it at a level 1 Forge from:
- 10x Finewood: Chopped from Birch and Oak trees with a Bronze Axe or better.
- 20x Iron: Smelted from Scrap Iron in a Smelter.
- 10x Feathers: Dropped by Crows and Gulls, and found in chests in the Meadows.
- 2x Deer Hide: Dropped by Deer.
| Name | Image | Biome | Crafting Station | Spawn ID |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Finewood | Meadows | - | spawn FineWood

| Iron | Swamp | Smelter | spawn Iron

| Feathers | Black Forest | - | spawn Feathers

| Deer Hide | Meadows | - | spawn DeerHide

When to Use It
This is early game gear. Iron comes from Sunken Crypts in the Swamp, so you can make it once The Elder is dead.
Upgrades
You can upgrade it 3 times after crafting, and each level needs the station one level higher than the last. The stats quoted on this page are for quality 1, so the table below shows where your own copy sits:
| Quality | Crafting Station | Pierce | Durability | Resources |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Forge (Level 1) | 42 | 100 | |
| 2 | Forge (Level 2) | 45 | 150 | |
| 3 | Forge (Level 3) | 48 | 200 | |
| 4 | Forge (Level 4) | 51 | 250 |
Properties
This is the quietest bow in the game. Attacking and hitting make only 4 metres of noise, while every other bow carries much further, so a missed shot does not bring the rest of the camp down on you.
That makes it the stealth bow. Every weapon deals triple damage to an unaware target, so with this bow a quiet miss can mean a second shot instead of a fight.
The arrow does most of the work. Ammunition damage is added to the bow's own before every other multiplier, so switching arrows changes more than moving up a bow tier does. The arrow is also where a bow build gets its damage type.
Notes
- Holding the primary attack draws the bow, and accuracy and damage improve until you release. Blocking cancels the draw and keeps the arrow.
- Draw time is 2.5 seconds at skill 0 and 0.5 at skill 100, but a bow can only fire once every 0.8 seconds, and you hit that cap at about skill 85.
- Arrow damage is added to the bow's base damage before any other calculation, so skill and quality boost the arrow as well.
