Splitnir the Primal is the Jade variant, with poison on the point and a decent chance of rooting whatever it hits. That is what you want when a Charred Warrior needs to stay still for a moment. It deals 135 pierce and 10 poison, 145 across all types, the same total as Splitnir the Storming. Its materials come from the Ashlands, and it is made at a Black Forge. In the Ashlands, Fader and Morgen both resist pierce but not poison, so the poison reaches them in full, though it is a small share of the damage. Pierce and poison damage also hurts Cultists, Ticks and Trolls more than most things.
How to Craft
Made at a level 4 black forge, from:
- 1x Splitnir: Made at a black forge.
- 6x Flametal: Smelted from flametal ore in a blast furnace.
- 1x Jade: Found in the charred fortresses of the Ashlands.

When to Use It
Late game. Flametal is found in the Ashlands, the furthest south the map goes.
Upgrades
It can be upgraded 3 times after crafting, and each level needs the station built one step higher than the last. Every other figure on this page is for quality 1, so this table shows where your own copy sits:
| Quality | Crafting Station | Pierce | Poison | Durability | Resources |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Black forge (Level 4) | 135 | 10 | 100 | |
| 2 | Black forge (Level 5) | 141 | 10 | 150 | |
| 3 | Black forge (Level 6) | 147 | 10 | 200 | |
| 4 | Black forge (Level 7) | 153 | 10 | 250 |

Properties
It brings 10 poison and a 20% immobilise. Jade adds a 20% chance to immobilise for 10 seconds, which stops movement and turning but not attacking. On a 0.68-second poke, that chance comes up often.
Hold it still and throw. An immobilised target cannot close the distance, and the secondary throw deals 1.5x from wherever you have backed off to. The poison itself is nearly wasted, because so many creatures are immune.
Notes
- The throw's 1.04 seconds includes picking the spear back up, so the listed speed is the whole cycle rather than the release.
- Thrown spears float, so one thrown at a Serpent is recoverable rather than lost to the sea.
- The primary moves you forward 0.33 m, the least of any melee class, so it does not walk you into a second enemy.
- Upgrading does not raise poison, which is 10 at quality 1 and still 10 at quality 4. Upgrades raise only pierce, from 135 to 153.
