The Type-66 "Cthulhu" is Peter Sampson's black racing muscle car from Claire's street races. It is a Quadra Type-66 tuned to the limit, with a strong engine and rear-wheel drive. V can get it free by sparing Sampson, or buy it on the Autofixer later. Players want it for its menacing looks and its race-bred speed. The Cthulhu comes after The Beast in Me in Act 2, either as Sampson's gift or as a high Street Cred Autofixer purchase.
Performance
The Cthulhu drives the rear wheels with a very strong engine. It was built and tuned for racing.
How to Get Quadra Type-66 "Cthulhu" Guide
- For the free car, make the right choices in The Beast in Me so that Claire spares Sampson.
- Wait for Sampson's message some days later, which hands over the repaired car.
- If Sampson dies or the race ends normally, wait for El Capitan's message and buy the car on the Autofixer for €$ 67,000 at high Street Cred.
Quadra Type-66 "Cthulhu" Map Location and Quest Guide
- Qualify for the final race at the end of The Beast in Me: Santo Domingo.
- When Claire talks about Dean, choose "You sure it was murder?", then "Sorry, Claire, but I can't help.", then "Okay, I'll still drive. But only to win."
- Start The Beast in Me: The Big Race and keep pace with Sampson's car.
- Follow Sampson when his damaged car pulls off the course, even though this forfeits the race.
- Get out with Claire after he crashes and confront him.
- Pick every timed choice: "What's he mean?", "Wait, wanna hear this.", "Claire, that true?" and "Yeah. Let him go."
- Let Claire spare Sampson and drive back to her garage.
- Wait for Sampson's message some days later, and the repaired Cthulhu is V's.

Lore
Peter Sampson is a corporate and a street racer. He raced the Cthulhu in the death race where Claire's husband Dean Russell died. A year later he returns as champion in the final race against Claire and V. Depending on V's choices, Sampson either finishes safely or crashes, and the Cthulhu burns. Either way, the car is later repaired.
The Database says the Type-66 was built to race. When it is tuned, given extra juice and new firmware, it unleashes a real horror from the worst nightmares onto the streets. The car is named after Cthulhu, the monster created by the writer H. P. Lovecraft.
Notes
- The same choices that spare Sampson also bring Claire's Mackinaw "Beast".
- Finishing the final race without confronting Sampson loses both free cars, and Claire will no longer serve V at the Afterlife.
