The Quadra Turbo-R V-Tech is the car from the game's earliest trailers, and V can get it free through a pair of jobs in Heywood and Santo Domingo. It is a low, wide American muscle coupe with a mid-mounted engine and rear-wheel drive. It is fast, loud and full of character, and it costs V nothing. Players chase it for its looks, its sound and its place in the game's history. V can get the V-Tech in Act 2 by finishing Padre's gig Life's Work in The Glen, which leads to the side job Sex On Wheels.
Performance
The V-Tech drives the rear wheels from a mid-mounted engine that sits behind the cabin. Its rear tyres are larger and wider than the front ones to carry that power to the road. Its engine is very strong for a car of its weight.

Lore
The Database compares the V-Tech with the classic Turbo-R. It asks what the difference is between a diamond and a lump of coal. The building blocks are the same, but the end results could not be further apart. It calls the V-Tech the queen of the road, a car that turns heads even when it is standing still.
The V-Tech in the game belongs to Jake Estevez. In Life's Work, Padre sends V to recover a stolen pickup for Jake's family. Once the truck is home, Jake sends V a thank-you message. He is leaving Night City for good, and he does not want his sweet ride to sit and rust. He gives V the coordinates of a garage at the cargo station in Rancho Coronado, where the car waits.
Jake's message makes the handover personal. He tells V to go wild, have fun and show off.
Notes
- If V fails Life's Work, El Capitan sends V to the same garage instead, and V has to clear out Scavengers there first.
- A horse decal on the rear and a bulldog bobblehead on the dashboard also appear on V's Hella and the Galena "Rattler".
- The V-Tech that V drives out of the garage stays in the world as its own car, separate from the one V summons later.
