The Smoke Grenade puts a cloud of smoke between V and the enemy. The smoke screen blocks sight lines for several seconds. It gives V a moment to reposition, reach cover or slip away. The Smoke Grenade suits a stealth build and any build that needs a safe way out of a firefight. The Smoke Grenade is an early game grenade that weapon vendors sell.
Effect
The Smoke Grenade creates a smoke screen where it lands. The cloud covers a small area and fades after several seconds. The smoke blocks the view in both directions, so it works best as a wall between V and the enemy.
Higher tiers make the smoke screen last longer. A long cloud gives more time to move between pieces of cover. The smoke is a defensive tool that sets up the next move.

Upgrades
The Smoke Grenade comes in several tiers. Each higher tier keeps the smoke screen up for longer. Crafting the grenade needs its crafting spec and crafting components of the matching tier.
Character Builds
Flash Sale is a Technical Ability perk made for utility grenades. It doubles the charges and the recharge rate of Flash, Smoke and Recon grenades. With Flash Sale, a stealth build can carry more smoke for each fight.
Grenades sit in the gadget slot, and each grenade has charges that refill over time. Health Freak raises the recharge speed of grenades and Health Items. Coming In Hot speeds up grenade recharge when no grenade is left. Demolitions Surplus adds one more grenade charge. It also makes grenades refill much faster outside combat. Glutton For War gives a small instant recharge after V neutralizes an enemy. The Cellular Adapter implant raises grenade recharge speed for each point of Technical Ability.
