Spirit Caller is the summoning staff of the Deep North. It calls up spirit bears, moose, wolves and boars, each tougher and harder-hitting than its wild counterpart.
How to Craft
Made in a frost foundry, from:
- 1x Cast: Spirit Caller: Poured at a level 3 galdr table from frozen branch, nornathread, moose trophy and its mould.
- 5x Liquid Frost: Frozen down from ice in a frigid kiln.
| Name | Image | Biome | Crafting Station | Spawn ID |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Cast: Spirit Caller | Deep North | Galdr Table | spawn StaffSpiritCallerUncooked

| Liquid Frost | Deep North | Frigid Kiln | spawn FrozenFuel

Mould
Mould: Spirit Caller turns up in the Deep North:
- Smashed out of the trash piles in the winding tunnels.
- Buried in the chests at memorial sites.
- On the weapon stands of the last floor of Mörkhalla.
When to Use It
End game. You have to kill Fader before you can progress through the Deep North.
Upgrades
It can be upgraded twice at the Galdr Table. Each step needs the station one level higher than the last, and the first costs the per-level amount, the second twice that. Quality 4 would cost four times the per-level amount and needs a level 6 Galdr Table, above its current maximum of 5, so that row is not yet available.
| Quality | Crafting Station | Durability | Resources |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Frost Foundry | 400 | |
| 2 | Galdr Table (Level 4) | 450 |
|
| 3 | Galdr Table (Level 5) | 500 |
|
| 4 | Galdr Table (Level 6, not yet available) | 550 |

Properties
It summons spirit versions of the Bear, the Moose, the Wolf and the Boar, each tougher and harder-hitting than its living kind and tinted a transparent violet. How many of each kind you can have at once equals the staff's quality: one of each at quality 1, two at quality 2 and three at quality 3. Each cast picks a kind at random and fails if that kind is already full, so filling all four slots can take many casts.
Each cast costs 100 eitr and 40% of your current health. Summons follow the player who called them, vanish if they end up more than 150 metres away, and stay for 120 seconds after that player leaves the game.
Like all Deep North staves, it is cast at a level 3 Galdr Table and hardened in a Frost Foundry. You repair it at the Galdr Table and upgrade it there, from level 4 for quality 2 up to level 6 for quality 4. The Galdr Table only reaches level 5, so in practice it stops at quality 3, and the Forge of Potential takes it further with a Bloodgold Battle Idol. While it is in your hands you move 5% slower.
You can have one of each kind per staff level. Each cast picks a kind at random and fails if that kind is already at its limit, so filling all four can take many casts.
That is the price: each cast costs 100 eitr and 40% of your current health. Summons follow you and vanish if they end up more than 150 metres away.
-5% movement speed while it is in your hands.
It weighs 0.3 and has 400 durability, 500 at quality 3.
Quality 4 needs a level 6 galdr table, above its current maximum of 5, so in practice it stops at quality 3.
Crafting it and taking it to quality 3 costs 20 Frozen Branch, 11 Nornathread and 1 Moose Trophy in total, plus a mould and 5 Liquid Frost.
Notes
- The cast takes eight Frozen Branches, five Nornathread, a Moose Trophy and the mould, so every Spirit Caller begins with a Barka hunt.
- Past its last quality level, the Forge of Potential can push it further with a Bloodgold Battle Idol.
