Poison Arrow is for the target you would rather wear down than out-fight. It tips obsidian from the Mountain with ooze carried back from the Swamp, and it deals 26 pierce and 52 poison damage. At 78 total damage it ranks 7th among ammunition, a step on the ladder rather than the top of it. Pierce and poison damage hurt the Cultist, Ulv and Troll more than most mobs, and that is what you carry it for.
How to Craft
You craft it at a level 3 workbench with this recipe:
- 8x Wood: chopped from any tree.
- 4x Obsidian: mined from obsidian deposits in the Mountain.
- 2x Feathers: dropped by crows and gulls, and found in chests in the Meadows.
- 2x Ooze: dropped by blobs and oozers in the Swamp.

When to Use It
This is a mid game arrow. Its Obsidian comes from the Mountain, the biome that follows Bonemass, and its Ooze from Blobs and Oozers in the Swamp.
Properties
52 of its damage is poison over time, against just 26 pierce. Like the frost arrow, it flips the usual split, so most of the damage arrives after the hit rather than with it.
More creatures are immune to poison than to any other damage type, so check before you commit a stack. Where it does land, it stacks with the Draugr Fang's own poison rather than replacing it.
Notes
- Ammunition damage is added to the weapon's own damage before anything else is worked out, which is why the loaded arrow or bolt, not the bow, decides what type of damage a shot deals.
- Bows shoot arrows and Crossbows shoot bolts, and neither can use the other's ammunition.
- With more than one kind in the inventory, right-click a stack to choose which one is shot.
