The Porcupine is a club in Valheim, dealing 50 blunt and 45 pierce. At 95 total damage it is 7th of the 13 clubs, so it is a step on the ladder rather than the top of it. Blunt damage hurts Growth, Blob and Frost Blob more than most things, which is what to carry it for.

How to Craft

Crafted at Forge, station level 4.
Costs 5x Finewood, 20x Iron, 5x Needle, 10x Linen thread at quality 1.
Materials can be found in the Plains biome.

When to Use It

Mid game. Black Metal drops from Fuling in the Plains, which is well past Moder.

Upgrades

Properties

Blunt and pierce, which is the worst pair in the game for finding weaknesses. Almost everything weak to blunt resists pierce and the reverse, so the Porcupine rarely gets a bonus. What it gets instead is consistency: very little is strong against both, so it never falls off either.

No black metal in the recipe. It is the only weapon of its tier that needs none, so it can be made the moment you find the materials, without hauling scrap home to a smelter.

Notes

It glows faintly and gives off a little light even holstered, which is a small cost to a sneaking approach.
